This quantitative descriptive study involved describing Egyptian teachers’ awareness of
gifted student characteristics. The purpose of the study was also to investigate the
difference in the total awareness scores between teachers who participated in the
Technology for Improved Learning Outcomes (TILO) training on effective teaching
methods and teachers who did not participate in the training. The study involved calculating the frequency, percentage, and mean value and using them to describe Egyptian teachers’ awareness of gifted student characteristics. The statistical
analysis determined that about 75% of Egyptian teachers were not completely aware of
gifted student characteristics. A significant difference emerged between the total awareness scores for teachers who participated in the TILO training and teachers who did not participate in the training.
