Mon, April 11, 7:45 to 9:15am, Convention Center, Floor: Level One, Room 155

Abstract

This paper describes a technology enhanced self-regulated learning (Te-SRL) environment designed to foster Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) among students. The aims of the study are: (a) to develop a technology-enhanced self-regulated learning environment (Te-SRL) that aims to facilitate student learning by using different types of scaffolds, and (b) to investigate the different self-regulating actions and considerations of students demonstrated when using the environment. Research was carried out during the 2014 school year. 365 students participated in this research. Data was collected from questionnaires, assessments, think aloud protocols, and computerized tracing. Results show an improvement in the SRL skill of self-evaluation along the course of learning with the Te-SRL environment which in turn contributed to improved performance of students in the Te-SRL environment
