This panel examines Phase One of a multi-phase mixed methods research project conducted in a low-income metropolitan urban community that is a collaboration between police, a local police foundation, and the university to create a youth (anti) crime initiative. Panelists will explicate challenges that emerged during an institutional collaboration that aimed to create a democratic process to transform community-oriented policing and construct a community-based youth (anti) crime initiative.
