This breakout session will focus exclusively on writing work that centers on social justice issues and the process of getting published. Professors will speak about their experiences including but not limited to specific journal recommendations, writing outside of the academy for public platforms, and overcoming barriers to publishing that are a result of using a social justice lens. Additionally professors will share examples of their work that they see as contributing to grassroots change from within the academy giving students insights on how they may think about writing for grassroots change in their current projects and beyond.
