In this talk, the presenters will provide an overview of public scholarship and explain how engaging in public scholarship can serve as a cornerstone for scholars striving to make meaningful contributions to their own research program, to public literacy, and to social justice. To illustrate how this conceptualization of public scholarship advances both theory and practice,
the presenters provide examples of three types of publications they have written specifically for education stakeholders. Moreover, the presenters describe the way education stakeholders have interfaced with these publications, and how their knowledge of the utility of these documents informs their future research activities.
