Session Type: Symposium
In this symposium, experienced and emerging self-study scholars, writing in collaboration, across multiple professions, contexts, and continents share their self-study conducted with others. They each took part in dialogic professional learning through self-study research; some in dyads, one in a triad, and one with her students. Building on, and extending, the existing body of self-study research, the six presenters offer their experiences of self-study —including the how, why, and impact of professional learning through context-specific, polyvocal, practitioner-led inquiry. Within this multiperspectival conversation, presenters engage with the complexities, challenges, and value of supporting, doing, and going public with polyvocal professional learning through self-study research. The symposium is an invitation to others to extend the conversation about polyvocal learning through self-study research.
