The National Research Council report, Monitoring Progress Toward Successful K-12 Education: A Nation Advancing, called for a national indicator system that could be used by both policymakers and practitioners to improve STEM education in the United States, with a focus on instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and the Next Generation Science Standards. This session presents work from six NSF-funded grants to develop measures for indicators of student’s exposure to instructional materials and curriculum that are consistent with these standards.
