Session Type: Symposium
The authors in this session explore various and in some cases new theoretical perspectives to engage with LGBTQ-themed young adult literature. Authors explore how specific theories offer scholars ways to examine issues related to gender, sexuality, desire, pleasure, friendship, as well as the very definition of youth. This session attempts to initiate a discussion in the field of secondary literacy education and Queer Studies in Education about the relationship between theory and LGBTQ youth.
