The Challenges and Possibilities of Including Students in School Leadership

Abstract
The purpose of this symposium is to illuminate youth-adult leadership work happening in the US and abroad. Comprised mostly of a diverse range of practitioners, our panelists will specifically examine how leadership practices encourage or discourage youth-adult school leadership using the fields of student voice, civic education, distributed leadership, and curriculum leadership as our lens, giving particular attention on how youth leadership and supportive adults create more student-center democratic schools.
