Session Type: Symposium
Psychosocial skills have become the focus of research in a variety of fields ranging from education and psychology to economics. In a number of countries across the world psychosocial skills have been elevated to playing a central role in national curricula. This session will bring together scholars from the United States, Germany, Canada, and Australia who will present a comprehensive review of the current state of research on psychosocial skills, discussing both the theory and areas of application. Researchers will present topics related to psychosocial characteristics as predictors of achievement pointing out specific methodological approaches, developmental trajectories, best assessment practices, and offer suggestions for intervention development.
