Session Type: Roundtable Session
Bringing the maker movement into the education conversation has the potential to transform how we understand “what counts” as learning, a learner, and a learning environment. This symposium advances the goals of SIG-ATL through the development of new technologies and research on how these technologies impact the lives of makers across a range of learning environments. Our symposium offers an interactive look at the technological innovations that are informing and are informed by research on the maker movement in education. The session will be both interactive and research-based as each of our three set of presenters will: 1) provide a demo of their technology and 2) present research that links the development of technology to the maker movement in education.
