Session Type: Symposium
This session explores developing teachers’ capacity to use evidence in professional learning communities (PLCs). Using evidence (e.g., scientific research results and/or local data on the functioning of the school) can help teachers to improve their practice. It is important that evidence use is not an individual activity, but happens in collaboration, such as in professional learning communities. To support teachers in developing their capacity to use evidence, PLCs of teachers, guided by and working together with researchers, can be a promising approach. In this symposium, we will present a variety of such PLCs from different countries, focused on evidence use.
