Abstract

This proposed symposium session brings together researchers who have been working in the area of LGBTQ rights, U.S. public schools and educational leaders for well over a decade, as well as researchers who are at the beginning of their careers. Each presenter will draw on a mix of empirical, theoretical and legal research, as well as methodological and theoretical approaches. Each presenter will focus on the implications of the Obergefell (2015) decision for educational leadership within U.S. public schools, as well as the politics of education across the United States.
