Building a Sustainable Future through An Understanding of Neoliberalism, Youth, Art, and Resistance
The purpose of this panel is twofold. The panelists highlight how corporate formations inside of K-12 schools in the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa are blocking students, teachers, and the public from understanding how an unjust economic system is a significant cause of environmental problems and a failure to address them. They also illustrate how minoritized youth public pedagogies related to the arts as well a eco-critical framework have the potency to foster critical awareness to the impact of settler colonialism as well as to engender supportive socially just and sustainable communities.
