Session Type: Symposium
Empirical attention to emotion in education has grown in recent years; emotion is now recognized as an important feature of school life. However, little attention has been given to emotion methodologically—that is, how emotion might be investigated in teaching and teacher education, what methodological problems arise and how to overcome them. The aim of this symposium is precisely to make an attempt to discuss and analyze the different methods and methodologies that have helped educational researchers to study emotions so far. This symposium will also include innovative approaches that will push the methodological boundaries that have served educational researchers until now and propose new ways of researching emotions in teaching and teacher education.
