Exploring Feedback Practices in Novice Teaching Through Online Platforms: A Panel Discussion

Abstract

Novice teachers report receiving inadequate feedback (in terms of quantity and quality) to meeting their learning needs. While we know some of the general characteristics of effective professional learning opportunities for teachers, feedback to teachers on their practice has been largely unexplored. New technologies are providing researchers with new opportunities to address this problem of practice. The symposium examines a variety of innovative uses of online platforms fostering novice teachers’ development of feedback practices and will offer a valuable synthesis of work to date conducted nationally and internationally. Panelists will explore the intersections of feedback delivery practices, digital tools, and teacher learning.
