In recent times with the advent of the ‘children in nature’ movement, the new nature movement and increased practice of nature and outdoor education there has been resurgence in public visibility of the field which we refer to as ChildhoodNature. This resurgence has primarily been orchestrated on a small collection of well-known books (Louv, 2005, 2011). These books, although focused on the ways and means of educating children in nature, have tended not to problematise the implications for this field or be instrumental in supporting new theoretical perspectives and associated research methodologies. This symposium will provide an avenue for considering and disrupting the terrain that lies ahead to continue to build the influence and impact of ChildhoodNature for public scholarship.
