Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This session focuses on the reconceptualization of individual differences in reading, and is intended to contribute to the conversation on the nature of reading and reading development. The posters in this session focus on recent research that describes diverse and complex individual differences, and the environments in which individual differences in reading may emerge, operate, interact, and change. As well, the session provides a historical overview of how individual differences in reading have been researched, and suggestions for how individual differences can be conceptualized. Results of this session contribute to the understanding of the construct of reading, and may prove useful in examining reading instruction, expected outcomes of teaching and learning, and the nature of reading assessments.
