Session Type: Demonstration/Performance
To engage in broader public discourses/debates, we demonstrate/perform pecha kucha (Japanese for chit chat) as inquiry to explore how knowledge construction happens recursively during the preparation and performance of, and engagement with pecha kucha. Pecha kucha is a multimedia (visual and auditory) presentation of image and sound with 20 slides shown/narrated for 20 seconds each, totaling six minutes and forty seconds (6:40). The rest of the time is allotted for pecha kucha (chit chat) with the audience. In this panel, we explore how preparing, presenting and interacting guided by the pecha kucha format informed our individual inquiry, knowledge construction of our empirical studies, and our methodological moves. We focus on the visual, auditory, embodied performance, and engagement with audience members.
