Session Type: Symposium
This session brings together a group of scholars at various stages of their careers to discuss their experiences working at the intersections of DSE and special education. The session will focus on a set of questions informed by research on boundary work (Akkerman & Bakker, 2011). The goal of the session is to discuss how to move beyond the epistemological, ontological, and praxis divides between the fields of DSE and special education. The panel will not follow the traditional form of panel presentations. Instead, the chairs will introduce and contextualize the session and then the panelists and the moderators (i.e., chairs) will be seated in a circle to debate a set of questions that have been provided to them in advance
