Session Type: Symposium
In this session researchers from seven universities and research institutions in the United States and Germany will present their meta-analytic investigations that examine student and context variables and their relations to meaningful educational outcomes. The four meta-analyses quantitatively synthesize multiple primary research studies, allowing researchers to reach clarity, validate study findings, and generalize results to multiple populations. The topics will cover a broad space within the context of education. Researchers will discuss the validity of student ratings of the instructor, correlations between age and acceptance of technology, links among student chronotype, personality, and achievement, and correlates of academic achievement in higher education. Issues concerning the methodology of meta-analysis as a research method will also be discussed.

The Correlation Between Chronological Age and Acceptance of (Learning) Technologies: A Meta-Analysis - Nathalie Hauk, Freie Universität Berlin; Stefan Krumm, University of Münster
Chronotype, Personality, and Academic Achievement: A Meta-Analytic Investigation - Anastasiya A. Lipnevich, Queens College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York; Marcus Crede, University at Albany - SUNY; Elisabeth Hahn, Saarland University; Frank M.
