Abstract

This symposium brings together a diverse set of studies that are concerned with the broad question of how neoliberalism shapes the social-structural contexts for justice oriented educational reform efforts. Panelists will present original, empirical research on how neoliberalism defines problems and possibilities within policy-making and reform projects; exacerbates and/or alleviates social, economic, and racial inequalities; shapes spaces of grassroots engagement/resistance; and opens or constrains possibilities for equitable outcomes.
