Session Type: Symposium
Education is one of the most powerful tools in building democratic societies. Selection and retention of good candidates for teaching has been highlighted as a global challenge. Knowing what motivates preservice and beginning teachers might be crucial for teacher education and professional development. Nevertheless, we must be aware of changes in motivation, especially when transitioning from initial training to early career. Our symposium gives us the opportunity to discuss influential aspects in teacher motivation through different personal and professional contexts. Our Discussant is a well-known expert in teacher motivation.
