Session Type: Symposium
In this interactive session, presenters and participants will engage in synergistic discussions on a clearly delineated research issue pertaining to motivation scholars in education: identifying and overcoming barriers to practice-relevant motivation research. This session includes three 5-minute PowerPoint presentations, with a large portion of the symposium being devoted to substantive exchanges in small working groups and whole group sharing sessions. Specifically, participants will discuss four critical areas of theoretical and applied significance to the motivation research community: (1) Establishing the Nature of the Practice-Relevant Research Partnerships; (2) Implementing Practice-Relevant Research Methods; (3) Disseminating Practice-Relevant Research among Educators; and (4) Continuously Examining the Impact of Practice-Relevant Research Recommendations on Classroom Motivation.
