Abstract

(1) updates on SIG activities, (2) introductions of the current and SIG leadership elect, (3) SIG proposal submission and acceptance rates, (4) the panel and debate described below:
Curt Bonk, Mimi Lee, and Tom Reeves debate delivery methods and target audiences related to MOOCs and open education. Each panelist will select and defend what they believe is the most tense, pressing, or controversial issues in the field (e.g., quality, accreditation, nanodegrees and micro-credentialing, personalization of learning, cultural sensitivity, retention, instructional design and pedagogy, etc.).
Bonk, Lee, and Reeves are co-editors of “MOOCs and Open Education Around the World” (http://moocsbook.com/). Signed copies of their book will be given to those who ask the most thought provoking questions during audience Q&A.
