This year’s panel takes the AERA 2016 theme “Public Scholarship to Educate Diverse Democracies” and asks in what ways have K-12 educational research influenced and affect diverse student populations. This panel highlights a variety of contemporary K-12 projects that focus on disenfranchised students. The presenters will focus on what data reveal about diverse student populations and highlight areas of improved methods with data collection as well as areas in need of additional research. In short, each panelist will cross-examine their work from the perspective of its ability to harness the influence of educational research for diverse student populations.
