There has been a recent resurgence of student activism in higher education institutions, most prominently exemplified by the #BlackLivesMatter movement. This interactive session will highlight differing perspectives about the purpose, scope and impact of the movement from the viewpoints of a student activist, chief diversity officer, and faculty scholars. Participants will critically examine the interplay between student activists and campus administrators in advancing institutional values related to social justice.
