Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
This session, organized by the Division J Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, focuses on discussion and collaboration related to emerging topics in higher education. A distinguished scholar will lead off the session with comments to frame the way that we might think about identifying these pressing issues in higher education, as well as different ways in which we might design research to engage in these topics. Then, roundtables will be held on the following topics: Incarceration and college-going, Foster care youth and college-going, Substance Abuse and College Students, Gun Violence and College Campuses, Sexual Assault and College Campuses, Contingent Faculty, Racial Conflicts on Campus and (New) Assaults on Tenure. Students and early career scholars are especially encouraged to attend.
