Tracking and Detracking SIG Business Meeting

Session Type: Business Meeting

Abstract

All are welcome to attend the business meeting of the Tracking and Detracking Special Interest Group, where we will feature a special presentation by John B. Diamond, co-author of Despite the Best Intentions: How Racial Inequality Thrives in Good Schools, on the role of tracking in a racially diverse school, followed by discussion of the relationship between tracking, race, and educational opportunity. We welcome anyone interested promoting equitable learning opportunities (membership in the SIG is not required). Everyone who attends the SIG meeting is welcome to stay afterwards for food and socializing at a local establishment.
