Abstract

The OST SIG is excited to be celebrating its 10th anniversary during the 2016 AERA conference! The theme of this year’s annual business meeting is Bridging OST Policy and Research. Given AERA’s own 100th anniversary in Washington, DC, this business meeting will feature a panel discussion consisting of leading scholars and top OST national advocates debating the following questions: What is the role of the OST research in the policymaking process? How has the OST empirical evidence been used to inform/shape policy? What strategies/opportunities does the OST field have at its disposal to make a stronger policy case and support ongoing scholarship? Audience members will have an opportunity to ask the panelists questions after the presentation.
