The Complexities and Intersections of Dis/ability Identity in Political and Educational Contexts

Abstract
Papers in this roundtable use a wide variety of methods to answer questions related to constructing and experiencing dis/ability as identity. Contexts range from early childhood through adulthood and address significant issues related to agency, intersectionality, and identity development. Several papers examine the potential for dis/ability positive experiences and identities, while others trouble deficit-understandings of disability and the effects of such constructs in K-12 schools and beyond.
