The present study aimed to investigate the role of gender in disordered eating, connections between disordered eating and substance use, and how gender and body satisfaction are associated with disordered eating among college students. Participants (n=445) completed a web-based survey which included items related to eating attitudes and behaviors, coping strategies, and a demographic questionnaire. Descriptive analysis, t-tests, chi-square analyses, as well as regression analyses were used to investigate possible associations between disordered eating and gender, substance use, and body satisfaction. Results indicated that women had higher levels of disordered eating and lower body satisfaction and that participants who used substances had more disordered eating in this college sample.
