This research explores how the enactment of a holistic curriculum informed by Aboriginal worldviews impacts on the complex conception and development of a large arts-based experience combining dramatic arts, visual arts, and music education. The curricular enactment has been conceptualized to reflect interconnectivity in a nested system, where all facets of learning link with each other on emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical levels (Miller, 2007). Teaching and learning from this holistic perspective offers a very different outlook from conventional school structure, where school subjects are divided into individual disciplines and where teaching and learning occur in a more linear fashion (Armstrong, 2005; Claypool & Preston, 2011).
