This study extends prior research on organizational and network influences on law school and legal employment hierarchies by incorporating theoretical and methodological concerns related to spatial effects. Drawing on data from the American Bar Association, spatial panel regression models are used to account for the important role that location plays in the distribution of law school employment outcomes. Findings show the significance of geographically proximate law schools, as well as other noteworthy predictors, on stratification in the legal labor market.
