Abstract

Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) has been shown to offer promise for administrators in developing intellectual capital (IC) in schools to meet the need for continuous improvement in a rapidly changing 21st Century world. This study validates a new instrument for operationalizing and measuring OCB in secondary schools in Pakistan (n=408). A model was proposed using exploratory factor analysis and tested using confirmatory factor analysis. Implications suggest educational leaders can use the new OCB scale as part of an evaluation method to create a continuous improvement cycle in schools that develops leadership skills-OCB-school climate-IC-school outcomes.
