Multiple Measures Assessment: Improving Community College Student Placement in California

Abstract

This paper outlines the result of a statewide research project in the California Community College system to increase accuracy of new student placement in math and English. We use data from high school transcripts and decision tree methodology to predict success in developmental and college-level coursework.
