The integration of media and technology has been a priority as well a challenge. It is unclear how prosocial behaviours of young children are reinforced or suppressed through the use of media, technology, and digital devices, such as iPads. Moreover, there appears to be no research on how these devices affect a child’s Theory of Mind (ToM). Hence, my research explores questions relating to this apparent void. This research employed design-based research and video ethnographic methods. The results demonstrated participants with prosocial sharing behaviours and ToM. Results are discussed in terms of introducing iPads and the difference between one-to-one vs. one-to-many devices. Overall, most children exhibited ToM and the ability to share with technological devices when encouraged by the researcher.
