Abstract

This proposed study will be conducted to better understand the perspective of Chief Diversity officers regarding support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender students in higher education. What is lacking in the literature is a comprehensive conceptual framework that integrates critical theory with the existing frameworks that address specific issues regarding support for LGBT students in higher education. This study also aims to focus largely on the perspectives of administrative leaders, such as Chief Diversity Officers, as it relates to providing support for students with diverse sexual orientations (LGBT) through the lens of Critical Theory, also known as Critical Social Theory.
