Leveraging multiple measures from an inquiry community, new teachers, their principals, and teacher educators studied the development of novice teachers to gauge professional growth in their early years of teaching. A mixed methods design explored how data from a combination of perspectives tell a clear story of new teacher experiences and highlight areas for professional development. Findings assess current competencies, demonstrate the value new teachers place on student feedback, and delineate areas of improvement for teacher educator programs. Results define the significance of a collaborative community to determine both competency and growth potential in new teachers.
