Profile Analysis of Educational Conditions and Performance of Universities in Korea

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze profiles of educational conditions and performance of universities in Korea using data from ‘higher education in Korea service’ (n=175). A profile analysis via multidimensional scaling model (PAMS) was used to extract the prototypical profiles. First, relatively significant differences in conditions and performance according to universities’ properties were found. Second, 2-prototypical profiles were extracted and the regional differences among the profiles were identified. These results yield special support of university itself and authorities to improve educational conditions and enhance performance in terms of regional balance of higher education in Korea.
