Abstract

A recent trend in Japanese educational culture is the growing interest associated with “Lesson Study” and “Curriculum Management.” Lesson study and curriculum management are based on teachers’ professional communities for improving the school systems.　The Ministry of Education in Japan officially recognizes the concept of curriculum management nationwide in documents concerning the local board of education and schools.
The sample school district, including 12 schools in a city of Japan, introduced “Curriculum Management Project, CMP” to improve the school system, teachers’ teaching skills and empower teachers’ morals, and others through a lesson study system. Therefore, the survey analyzed the comparison between just before stating the CMP and one and half school years later since the CMP had started.
