Knowledge brokering organizations, an emergent organization, often not formally recognized in educational systems, play a crucial role in large-scale efforts to strengthen the relationship between policy, research and practitioners (Cooper, 2013; Meyer, 2010). Knowledge brokers attempt to translate, transform and adapt data, information or knowledge into actionable messages for district and school actors. We seek to examine how knowledge brokers interpret and negotiate district and school actors’ knowledge needs regarding data-use and best practices in order to convey messages through their Website. We examine the role of talk as analytical and methodological method to gain access to the knowledge mediation –including values and beliefs- that shape knowledge brokers’ thinking and action in their interactions with and around their website.
