Examining the Technology Integration Planning Cycle Model of Professional Development to Support Teachers' Technology Integration

Abstract

This mixed-methods study explored a form of professional development (PD) designed to meet teachers’ situated needs within the context of their own classroom. The Technology Integration Planning Cycle model of PD involved teachers in a suburban school district and sought to support their meaningful integration of technology into instruction. Results indicate that teachers increased in their frequency and skill with incorporating digital tools into instruction, and their students’ digital literacy skills also increased.
