Abstract

This qualitative study examines a nuanced space of school leadership by examining the formal educational experiences of teachers enrolled in the emerging leaders pilot program. The emerging leaders pilot program was imagined and implemented after a sustained conversation and mutual partnership between the university and the local school district. Since its creation, fifteen teachers have been engaged in a transformative educational process that has informed the way they teach, lead, and learn. This research blends research, theory, and practice to inquire into the dynamic and innovative nature of the emerging leaders program and its impact on the development of the cohort participants as school and community leaders.
