Abstract

This study employs biographical methods to understand how Bernadette Rodríguez, a middle school teacher, conceptualizes culturally relevant teaching and teaches literature, particularly fictional texts set during the civil rights movement of the 1960s, in a suburban district (Smith, 1994).
