An Unsettling Journey of Discomfort, Dissonance, and Discovery: A Teaching Practicum in China

By critically examining an international field study of “Teaching Practicum in China” led by the author in the summer of 2015, this paper will explore the unsettling journey of discomfort, dissonance and discovery through the personal narratives of student teachers in a teacher education program in the U.S., college faculty leader of the teaching practicum, school administrators, cooperating teachers, students and parents in a public elementary school in China.
