Unsettling Images in Urban Schools

Abstract

Drawing on feminist new materialist theories and methodologies, this paper puts into question conventional humanist research practices. In the paper, I develop an ecological analysis of data in order to disrupt human-centred research practices and to further generate alternative possibilities for analyzing data. I particularly use image-data (i.e., video generated with the use of wearable technologies (GoPro camera)) to unsettle dualist thought structures that bifurcate experience in schools.
