Abstract

As a result of the standards-based movement in education, the most recent reforms encourage teachers to incorporate a range of assessment practices that can be not only positioned in a context of accountability and quality assurance, but also responsive to students’ learning needs.
In Italy, despite of the importance of gather students’ feedbacks in providing information about what students have gained through their engagement with higher education, the quality assurance process has remained largely unchanged. Students’ behavior of compliance and a strong sense of disaffection represent increasing malpractices in the Italian quality assurance system. The article reports results of a mid-term questionnaire on students’ opinions on teaching quality realized within a research project on feedback in higher education.
