This paper seeks to re-orient educational thinking about AIDS for the 21st Century, attending specifically to the emergence of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and shifting understandings of the biolpolitical construction of the “good,” or more so “healthy” life. How upon ingesting pharmaceuticals does the "good" life shift in relation to a virus to establish the “healthy?” How, this paper will explore, do various shifts in the material and discursive work of AIDS impact the ways education orients discussions and students toward sexuality and health? In what ways have sex education (broadly conceived) directed bodies in particular ways and how do such directions expose the continued hetero-and-homo-normativity of education?
