Mon, May 1, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Floor: Fourth Floor, Republic B

Abstract

This study will investigate science teachers’ beliefs about practice as a result of participating in a Research Experience for Teacher (RET) program. Teachers’ beliefs about pedagogical discontentment and self-efficacy regarding teaching practices before and after participating in Research Experience for Teacher (RET) programs will be examined. An understanding of teacher beliefs about practice has shown to be a good indicator of how teachers willing to change in the future. The study will analyze pre and post tests of pedagogical discontentment and self-efficacy to show the effect of the RET program on the relationship between a teacher’s pedagogical discontentment and self-efficacy.
